The Origami project represents an innovative approach to living, trying to interconnect the advantages of a house and an apartment. Above the common underground floor with parking places and storage spaces (basements) there are thirteen units divided into more levels. When looking from the outside, the units look like semi-detached or family houses. Each unit has its own garden with an outside terrace, a basement and two parking places. Three-floor units have an extra terrace on the second floor, accessible from the adjacent room. In this way Origami provides the privacy of living in a house whilst at the same time the homely comfort and atmosphere of an apartment.
The Origami project is located at the east end of Pod Karlovarskou silnicí street, which divides it into two parts – named A and B. A common inner road runs through the middle and makes it possible to enter the individual units, and via the lift or stairway to the underground garage.
The apartments in part A have been granted occupancy permits and are offered for sale as shell & core, so the final interior is up to the owners, enabling them to finish their dream home according to their wishes and tastes.
The non-residential units (offices, studios) in part B are all furnished according to the same standard. This includes a security entrance door, interior doors with hidden hinges, and light oak laminate floors.
The bathrooms and toilets are furnished with white sanitary ware and are tiled in shades of grey.
The apartments in part A correspond to energy efficiency class C, the non-residential units in part B meet the requirements for energy efficiency class B.
